BARCELONA; 11 July 2010. The human towers team Tirallongues of Manresa stands for the Catalan protesting rally in Barcelona for a greater autonomy in Catalonia.
More than a million people gathered yesterday in Barcelona in favour of the Catalan charter that refers to Catalonia as a nation, rejecting the rules that cut the Catalan laws, and calling for a greater autonomy for Catalonia. The demonstration came a day after the Spanis’ highest court declared that there was no legal basis to recognise Catalonia as a nation and the Catalan language should not take precedence over Spanish language.
TIRALLONGUES’ main objective is building up CASTELLS (human towers) and the promotion of EL FET CASTELLER ( the status of being a CASTELLER). Tirallongues tries to achieve this by taking part in displays around Catalonia and, in doing so, aim to keep popular Catalan culture alive. Therefore; as other Human Towers Teams did, Tirallongues took over the spirit of the Barcelona rally in the castellera display carried out yesterday in Sant Vicenç de Castellet. Tirallongues built up two pilars of four waving the Catalan flag.

ACTUACIÓ CASTELLERA A SANT VICENÇ DE CASTELLET – BAGES -
En l'actuació de la festa major local hi van participar les colles Tirallongues de Manresa, els casteller de Cerdanyola i els castellers d'Altafulla.
L'actuació va començar per part de -Tirallongues i dels castellers de Cerdanyola- amb pilars desplegant senyeres en suport de la manifestació de Barcelona. Els castellers de Altafulla no van desplegar cap senyera.
L'apartat castells va quedar reduit a dues rondes degut a que l'ambulància va haver de assitir a un casteller d'Altafulla. En trigar molt a tornar l'ambulància i no haver-ni de recamvi es va donar per acabada l'actuació en acabar la segona ronda.
Tirallongues va descarregar el tres de set en primera ronda i en la segona va intentar el quatre de set, castell que no es va carregar degut a què quan l'enxaneta estava al costat de l'aixexador, en lloc de fer el pas i trevasar va decidir baixar i quedant el castell en intent desmuntat.
TIRALLONGUES actuarà el proper dia 25 de juliol al migdia a Castellserà juntament amb els margeners de Guissona.
