Barcelona will bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in the Pyrenees, the Catalan city's mayor Jordi Hereu made the announcement today in Barcelona. Barcelona hosted the 1992 Summer Games. In addition, no city has hosted both the summer and winter games so far. This would make Barcelona the first city to host both Olympic Games, the summer and the winter. Barcelona would provide the setting for the indoor sports while the other events would be located in the Catalan Pyrenees
