BARCELONA THE EURO-MEDITERRANEAN CAPITAL

BARCELONA, 21 november 2008.



The city of Barcelona has been chosen by the EU as the headquarters for the secretariat of Barcelona process: Union for the Mediterranean.
The headquarters will be situated at the palau of Pedralbes, the premise which -la Generalitat- offers. La Generelitat: It’s the Catalan Gov’s headquarters, where the president of Catalonia lives. In the USA it’ll be like The White House.

EURO-MEDITERRANEAN CAPITAL
All European countries and those around the Mediterranean are facing an area of new challenges and have shared interests, such as how to manage migration, the environment, energy, transport, business development or higher education. At the Mediterranean union in Barcelona, a total of 43 European and Mediterranean countries will meet to look for ways forward to create a positive working environment between both groups through policies that will be implemented across Europe and the Mediterranean.
